Creating a Calm Morning Routine for Kids
A few gentle steps that make getting out the door easier for the whole family.

Mornings set the tone for the whole day. A calm start does not need a perfect schedule, only a few predictable steps your child can count on.
Prepare the night before
Lay out clothes, pack the bag, and agree on breakfast before bedtime. Fewer decisions in the morning means fewer struggles.
Use a picture routine
A simple chart with four or five pictures (wake up, get dressed, eat, brush teeth, shoes on) lets children see what comes next and take pride in doing it themselves.
Build in connection
Five unhurried minutes together, a cuddle or a short story, often saves fifteen minutes of resistance later.
Keep goodbyes short and warm
